The King William’s Town Golf Club turned 125 years in 2017. Established in 1892 by Messrs. T.N. Dyer, C.W. Irvine, H. Squire-Smith, M.R. Ruhton, J.W. Weir and E.H. Vaughan; it is one of the oldest clubs in South Africa. It hosted the South African Golf Tournament in 1896 and again in 1902, a year before the establishment of the now popular South African Open.
At KGC we take great pride in being the venue at which Ernie Else launched his professional career when he won the Innaugural Amatola Classic in 1991.
